Mass Effect 4: 10 Things We Want From BioWare's New Saga

4. Further Gameplay Options

When classes were re-imaged in ME2, it added diverse unique abilities, most notably the vanguard's charge. But others like the Infiltrator, with its ability serving to be nothing more than a damage booster. It undoubtedly lacked the excitement the Vanguard possessed, which I've always found frustrating while playing an Infiltrator. Why not incorporated a sneak mode specifically for the Infiltrator, this could introduce mechanics like stealth kills, bypassing the enemy without killing anyone or simply maneuvering the field to find a perfect sniper point. There are some great examples of giving players choice to how they approach the mission, games like Deus Ex and the upcoming Dishonored. But unlike the prior titles I mentioned, Mass Effect could never achieve the level of open-ended ways to finish the mission, as Mass Effect's mission sequences plays out like a scene in movie and is what makes the series so great. What I would like to see is instead of linear choice of kill everyone in your way is an option of how you would like to approach the mission, dictated by your class and how you play it. This could also introduce replay value by giving players the excuses to see how each class could have approached the missions differently.
