Mass Effect 4: 12 Brand New Features You Need To Know About
12. It's Set In A New Galaxy, With A New Mysterious Race
First up there's a new galaxy; the 'Helius Cluster' - one that's reportedly 1000s of lightyears across, comprised of 100s of smaller solar systems - and handily has about as much to do with Shepard's adventures as a Quarian pilgrimage does with dancing the Cucaracha.
It's essentially Bioware's way of cleansing their palette from anything relating to the adventures of the original trilogy, although instead of past Prothean tech and references popping up to pad things out, it's the new and mysterious Remnant that are the forgotten race of choice this time - factoring into your main drive to explore and discover their hold on this part of the galaxy.
Speaking of exploration, this time round your character is a "combat trained but untested explorer" setting out into uncharted territory, only to get lost in all the warring alien factions, race relations, technological advances and uneasy alliances within.
So, space racism? An ancient race that holds the key to everything you're doing and a human trying to carve a path through a sea of advanced species' forever looking down on them?
Yup, it's Mass Effect alright.
