Mass Effect 4: 12 Brand New Features You Need To Know About

11. You Can Fully Customise Your Character, Ship And Vehicle

If you've played any of the Mass Effect games with a custom Commander Shepard, you'll know just how 'off' they'd look in comparison to the scanned-in face of Mark Vanderloo; the real-world model Bioware used in the game's advertising and packaging. You could get around this by playing as a female Shep, but the fact always remained that if you wanted to play as the 'real' version, it was the default option given at the beginning.

So, to get around this and give everyone a fair shake of the believability-stick, ME 4 is cranking up the customisation options and letting you fully rework your main character, the design of your ship and even the options for everything surrounding the drivable Mako too.

It looks like this will mean specific parts grafted onto your vehicle of choice that will then allow it to either ping-pong around the landscape like in the original Mass Effect, or be a more grounded Mad Max-style battering ram for dispatching pesky Batarians instead.

In addition, the report detailed the ability to take camera snaps/screen-grabs of whatever you find out and about in the world, before letting you customise your ship with framed versions of them, as well as selling them onto other characters in the world (and maybe other players too).

So, if you want to turn your hero into a wandering shutterbug who only saves the galaxy on the side, feel free.
