Downloadable content does have its place in the modern gaming landscape, but all the same, wouldn't it be so refreshing and ultimately rewarding to fans if a developer behind one of the biggest franchises out there actually released their game without the need to parse out content afterwards? Mass Effect has a closer relationship with this business practice than most, as it was what completely crippled part three's appeal when people found out some essential characters or beats of the story were locked behind a paywall... Going forward, sadly it looks like DLC is here to stay as it helps suitably gargantuan budgets the likes of what Mass Effect 4 will already have get recouped post-launch. However, we can but dream.
