Mass Effect 5: 10 Fan Demands We Need To See

9. Enemies That Aren't Just Soldiers With Guns

With a new galaxy to explore, Mass Effect: Andromeda should have been one of the most imaginative and creative entries into the series so far. Instead, the game fell back on its laurels, returning to tried-and-tested ideas rather than changing up formulas we'd gotten used to.

But by far the most frustrating part of the developer's lack of imagination was that the new enemy alien race, the Kett, were once again just another stone-faced set of dudes with machine guns.

The thing is, when it came to the other enemies you fought, Bioware seemingly put more effort into designing them than it did its main antagonists. Fighting the exotic and strange alien creatures that inhabited different planets was great, as they used abilities and attacks that forced you to change your tactics depending on who you were against.

Bioware need to focus more on enemies like this going forward, as nothing sucks the sense of wonder out of a new galaxy than seeing that it's full of as many enemies committed to boring cover shooting as the last one.
