Mass Effect Andromeda: 15 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
6. How To Control Your Teammates' Special Abilities
Here's a weird thing - Bioware have all but removed the ability to control your teammates when out in the field. Where before you could either pause the game, assign targets, swap ammo types and weapons or tell your squad precisely where to head, now all we've got are a couple of movement controls.
Still, a good way to clear out any number of installations safely is to advance as a team - something you can still do if you aim towards the ground ahead and tap left or right on the D-pad to send the corresponding squaddie into position. Tapping up will send both to the same place, but you can use this left/right distinction to assign one teammate to a specific target, whilst another gets into a side flanking position.
Sadly, if you're aiming near an enemy, the game will take that as indication you're targeting them instead, but handily, repeatedly tapping a teammate's direction after they're locked on will trigger one of their special abilities, so be sure to factor that into your attack.
