Mass Effect Andromeda: 15 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
7. Improve The Frame Rate & Performance Overall
For some reason, despite Mass Effect 2 getting this visual effect down, the film grain that got shlacked atop Mass Effect 3 and now Andromeda, only serves to either make the game look worse (it is 'grain' after all), or in Andromeda's case, drastically effect the frame rate.
To get a much better overall experience visually and through performance, head into the game's options and disable both film grain and 'chromatic aberration'. The latter is a fairly old-school visual effect that adds coloured outlines to a variety of objects, assumedly in this case it's meant to recreate an 'old sci-fi movie' aesthetic, yet only serves to lower the picture quality.
Switch both of these things off (on consoles too) then hop back into your game - you'll immediately notice a cleaner picture, not to mention a performance uptick, as you've freed up a tiny portion of the processing power dedicated to such unnecessary features.
