Many fans are getting way more incensed about one line of dialogue than they really should be - the part where Cora states that "power readings are off the chart!" - resulting in bad memories from Mass Effect 3's mystical ending to come flooding back.

See, until the close of ME3, every last bit of Mass Effect's world was explainable, from the way guns fired to precisely how your ship's warp drive operated. Then we had to go face-to-face with a humanoid, childlike A.I. interface during the final few minutes, and it all went to sh*t.

I'm putting this line of dialogue down to the fact that with an entirely new galaxy, comes a new ruleset in regards to established science, and all the requisite 'charts' contained within. Yes, it's a bog-standard line we've heard a thousand times before in science fiction, but combined with Cora's weirdly animated 'hopping' animation before breaking into a sprint, looks like Bioware are having some fun with the game's narrative setup and the genre overall.
