Mass Effect Andromeda - Ranking Every Character From Worst To 'Best'

6. Alec Ryder

Yup, a character who's only in the game for one mission manages to make a stronger and more lasting impression on those you can take across the cosmos for the majority.

That's partly thanks to Alec's optional memory fragments filling out his motivations, but also due to the lack of quality scripting across the board. Still, being an N7 operative, Alec is most commonly associated with that dogged sense of space-age warfare, though there is a brilliant line when you first open the Remnant cave together, as he states, "These are the moments that make it all worthwhile".

In the flashbacks too, we see that despite Alec being a genius engineer with a brilliant mind for creating a revolutionary A.I. in the form of SAM, he always put his family first, rounding out his motivations nicely - which is more than can be said for the rest.
