Target of all sorts of hate campaigns in the lead-up and post-release, Cora was assumed to be some sort of 'intentionally less attractive female' included to 'appease the SJWs' - which in-game, couldn't be farther from the truth.

For one, she's clearly not unattractive by any means, and two, Bioware write her as a consummate professional; someone who's trained for years as Alec Ryder's second-in-command, only for the title of Pathfinder to fall to his kin instead. Cora has to deal with this contrast of duty and personal desire, and that's before she reveals her role as an Asari huntress, where she worked as one of Talein's Daughters; a group of fearsome Asari commandoes.

I actually really loved how in Andromeda, you can totally play Cora as a best friend, being there's no real reason why she would sleep with the person who 'took her job'. Fundamentally, this became the strongest relationship I built across the game, one forged from a mutual respect on where both individuals stood in the wake of Alec Ryder's passing.
