Part of the problem with a lot of video game movies is they try to do a film about the game, but completely deviate from the whole structure that made the game awesome in the first place. In Mass Effect's case, there's been so many memorable moments throughout the three games released so far that there's absolutely no reason why the director can't put in nods within the movie that fans will totally nerd out over. How about Garrus at least once mentioning that he's in the middle of calibrations? Shepard passing Mordin Solus' room aboard the Normandy and hearing him singing his Scientist Salarian song in the shower? Or a crew entering a shop in the Citadel, only to be greeted with: 'I'm Commander Shepard, and this is favourite store on the Citadel!'? All of these really need to be in the movie(s) at some point alongside other memorable moments from the franchise. The fan service should really seep throughout the entire film; everything should remind us of the game we all loved, from the characters down to the teeny-tiny easter eggs only those really looking for them would see. This film is being made to appeal to both Mass Effect's, so why shouldn't it be full of this stuff? You all know you want to sing along under your breath in the cinema....
