Mass Effect: Ranking Every Main Squad Member In The Original Trilogy

11. Javik

If James was a poor choice for a character introduction in the final game, Javik was the perfect choice. The last surviving Prothean who had been in stasis for 50,000 years after the Reapers had destroyed his entire civilisation and people, Javik made for an exceptional addition in the fight against the Reapers.

The Protheans had been built up over the course of three games with the idea that they were these incredible and incomparable beings that created so much in the universe. Javik was a brilliant contrast as an imperialistic war machine that had been born during the Prothean/Reaper war. He may not have been the idealistic image of a Prothean but he was their angry and vengeful shadow that fitted into the Normandy's crew like a glove.

Perhaps not the nicest or most humble of crewmates, Javik would often clash with other squad mates as he struggled to understand the differences in culture and customs. Still, Javik was walking trauma who had one single minded goal that had been hyped up over three games, and it worked phenomenally.
