Metal Gear Online: 10 Crucial Tips & Tricks You Need To Know

2. Shields Are Very Useful Even When Unequipped

A great attention to detail comes in the form of the various shields you can equip. Intended for single-handed pistol/firearm users, plenty of you probably held off equipping them in favour of a rifle, but like in the campaign, even when not in use they can deflect bullets from anyone firing at you from behind. This transfers onto Walkers too (as if they weren't tank-like enough), as when you're riding you'll not be able to use any of your standard weapons - but the shield that sits on your back will prevent a lot of incoming fire regardless, giving you enough time to whirl around and return a few shots. This makes you incredibly hard to take out directly as your only weak points are to the side, and providing you use the L2/LT button to auto-lock the camera as you turn (it'll always spin to look in the direction your character is facing) means you can get the drop on anyone firing on you.
