Metal Gear Solid V: 8 (Some Are Worrying) Things We Learned From Gameplay Demonstration

4. Less Talk, More Play

Metal Gear Solid V Anyone that has ever played a MGS game will tell you that the amount of dialogue and scenes piles up to astronomical heights and are nearly impossible to accurately time. The ending sequence of scenes to MGS 4 literally lasts over an hour with multiple save and pause breaks just in case you simply run out of time. The very foundation of the franchise€™s critical success stemmed from the fact that story trumped gameplay (which was most definitely exceptional as well) and subsequently offered a deep and mature gaming experience like no other. You can thank Hideo Kojima solely for your Bioshock€™s and Last of Us style experiences as without the ground he broke, the industry may not have reached that bar yet. Kojima says MGS V is far less dependent on its narrative however and locked in on giving players as much control as possible, even during cinematic moments. I am certain the story is still alive and persistent but it€™s intriguing that Kojima might be cutting out the fat. Maybe Kojima Productions finally hired an editor to keep Kojima€™s vision on track.
