9. The Man On Fire Is Definitely Volgin

We'll begin with an easy one: it's something that most people are already convinced of, but it's always nice to get a little confirmation, right? Ever since the "Man on Fire" was first witnessed in The Phantom Pain's hospital footage two years ago, it's been widely speculated that he's the spectral essence of Volgin, who of course was killed off in MGS3. When Ishmael helps Big Boss escape the hospital, the figure appears before the two, and the leak now confirms that the entity is absolutely Volgin in some form or another, most likely conjured up by Psycho Mantis. Though the nature of his presence hasn't been explicitly stated, he apparently has two major appearances in the game: he shows up as a boss in the hospital prologue, and again in Mission 20. Also, Big Boss has to recover Volgin's remains in the game's second chapter, though it's still unknown how far into the game this is. In all likelihood, it's the very same Mission 20.
