Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Everything We Know So Far

1. The Tone Is Half-Serious, Half Completely Insane

As you can tell there's a lot going on in Phantom Pain. If you go down the Skull Face route, we've got a character who's family were brutally obliterated by an opposing army force's bombing raid, the scorching flames of which burnt off all the skin on his body and left him slightly insane. He then named himself after his charred remains and presumed to torture people so much that they too are forced to become 'stronger' like him. Then on the other hand there's horse poop-jokes, mechanical hands, holograms and flying goats - so it's definitely still Metal Gear. In the end it might turn into a case of the creator having that little bit too much free reign on where the project should head, but on the other we've already mentioned how incredibly well each game has performed and been received. Aside from focussing too much on the weirdly fetishised sniper 'Quiet' who is apparently "deprived of her words" (probably through torture we'd imagine), Kojima seems to know his audience and fans very well, and will surely deliver. Is there anything else we've missed? So far the rumours around the young boy 'Eli' being Liquid Snake are unfounded, but let us know in the comments what else you've found out!
