17. Occupation Forces (Episode 8)

Overview: Eliminate the colonel who has been reassigned from Sakhra Ee Village to Smasei Fort, and prevent the tanks from redeploying to Smasei Fort. Episode 8 sees the player progressing from extraction missions to taking on more challenging enemies, namely tanks and vehicles, and boy, it's a lot of fun. For all of its flaws, the game does a superb job making Snake seem so capable and making the player feel like a total bada**, and in the early stages of the game, it's arguably no truer than here. As long as you have a rocket launcher or can find a tank nearby, this one's easy: just unleash as many explosive rounds at the three vehicles as possible, ensuring to take the tanks out first, though of course, play it safe and make sure your have your own cover scoped out. The battle will be over in less than 30 seconds if your aim is true, and then you can get the hell outta there.
