Metal Gear Solid V: Ranking The Missions From Worst To Best
10. Skull Face (Episode 30)
Overview: Skull Face has occupied the secret Soviet weapon design bureau OKB Zero, and advanced his plan to its final phase. Prevent the combat deployment of the upright bipedal weapon Sahelanthropus, and take vengeance on Skull Face. As the penultimate main mission, infiltrating Skull Face's fortress is built up to be this extremely challenging endurance trial, but it's actually surprisingly easy. Whether you use stealth or go full Rambo, there's not as many guards to take on as you might expect, and after making your way through three checkpoint-type areas, you'll arrive at the heliport where Skull Face is waiting. Cue a 15-minute cut-scene (making it probably the longest in the game), including the hilariously awkward placement of the song "Sins of the Father" after Skull Face's lengthy monologue, and the outrageous utterance of "Such a lust for revenge! Whoooo!" when Sahelanthropus starts destroying his base. The battle or sneak through OKB Zero could have been a little more epic and the lack of an actual Skull Face boss fight is pretty disappointing, but the mission finally gets the story moving somewhere, and it's undeniably entertaining as a result.
