The Context: Towards the end of Act 4 Snake gets to pilot Metal Gear Rex during an intense escape from Shadow Moses. The way out isn't that easy however as he encounters Ocelot piloting Metal Gear Ray. Narrative details aside, this battle is epic simply because it gives us that Rex vs Ray fantasy match fans had dreamt of. The Fight: Thankfully the fight itself delivers with some truly memorable and chaotic gameplay. If you wish, you can simply pummel the hell out of Ray up close while also making good use of all the interactive and destructible environments, like smashing it through a cement pillar. Of course, Rex is also equipped with missiles to fire for those seeking a more strategic approach. Ultimately though, this battle ranks so high for not only giving the franchise's most loyal fans this dreamlike scenario, but for all endlessly entertaining it is playing a fight where two giant mechs beat the tar out of each other.
