Despite how rudimentary Survive's gameplay and missions seemingly are, it's not an entirely unenjoyable experience. Just a mostly unenjoyable experience.

Early impressions seem to indicate that the basic combat and objectives are pretty fun to tackle with friends, with unscripted sequences and climactic firefights leading to some surprisingly great moments of co-operative play.

That said, these early impressions imply that the enjoyment players are actually having is down to people forcing it on themselves, rather than because of anything the game is doing itself.

The tools are there to have an enjoyable time, but lets face it, even the dirt-worst titles can be made to be at least passable when they're played through with a team of friends.
