In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, a meteor impact caused the planet of Aether to shatter into two dimensions - Light Aether and Dark Aether.

Until Samus receives an upgraded suit, she will receive damage in Dark Aether unless she resides in a light zone. This makes the Dark Aether sections difficult, especially when you have to face the boss in Agon Waste, Amorbis.

Although this trio of giant worms aren't the first boss you must face in Dark Aether, they are the first that can deactivate the light zones, meaning the poisonous atmosphere will drain you of your health unless you defeat Amorbis quickly.

The trick is to obliterate this serpents crown and knock it to the ground. You then need to use your Morph Ball to blow it up from the inside, breaking off a layer of skin. After you do this a few times, the three Amorbis' (or Amorbi) will be vulnerable enough to destroy with your Power Beam.
