Early in the game, you will come across pressure-sensitive hatches that seal shut if you walk on the yellow-coloured path beside them. Fortunately, these pressure-plated doors can be bypassed by utilising a new power-up called the Flash-Shift. This ability allows Samus to teleport several feet to the left or right, allowing her to pass through any door without coming into contact with the pressure-plate.

However, you can get through these hatches by using, not one, but two different techniques involving the Morph Ball. By staying on the edge of the pressure-plate, you can leap to the other side, passing through the door with ease without activating the shutter. It might take a few attempts but it's not too hard.

However, this is much trickier while underwater since Samus is slower and can't jump as high. But there's another way to get around this. As has been already mentioned, you can theoretically bounce yourself upward forever by performing the Elevating Bomb Blast.

While in the Morph Ball, roll onto the pressure-plate, which will seal the door. After blasting yourself in the air for a few seconds, the hatch will unlock, allowing you to pass through.
