Metroid Prime 4: 9 Other Switch FPS You Should Play

3. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter

It's still plagued by the limitations from over twenty years ago like repetitive textures and that ruddy fog! But it's still number 3 on this list.

Because it's still so much fun to play, even by todays standards, and not just as a retro curiosity.

There's a reason the '90s shooter model is making a comeback, there's less focus on shiny graphics and textures and more emphasis put upon the gameplay and skill as well as more intricately designed levels designed to challenge the player.

Challenged you will be as this game, as you might expect, delivers it up old school.

It lacks the atmosphere and tone of Metroid as well as the puzzle element but what you do get is simple, intense, fun.

That means: big, awesome guns that go boom and then some, platforming over perilous pits and a laser guided, fire breathing, T-rex, of which there are far too few in games these days.

Turok 2 is set for a Switch release too so get your practice in while you can!
