If Microsoft's showcase made a thoroughly convincing argument that Xbox Game Pass is an unfathomably great deal for gamers, it's also fair to say that the remainder of 2021 is fairly lacking in the AAA big-hitter department.

There are certainly a large number of compelling lower-budget titles on the way in the second half of this year, such as 12 Minutes, Psychonauts, and Back 4 Blood, but beyond Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5, the blockbuster releases won't be ready until next year and beyond.

Obviously building a stable of AAA IP doesn't happen overnight, but players hoping to make the most of their Xbox Series X will mostly have to wait until next year before the horsepower-demanding titles start releasing with regularity.
