Mirror's Edge: Catalyst - 10 Huge New Details You Need To Know About
7. Combat's Been Overhauled
Whether or not you liked the first game, you have to admit that combat left a lot to be desired. Controls felt unresponsive, sluggish, and hits themselves didn't really pack the punch it should've done. Gun combat too felt a little clunky and not at all useful, so it's great to see that the reboot is redefining the series' combat for the better. From gameplay shown thus far Faith is definitely looking like a more capable fighter, with blows landing in the way you'd imagine them to this time around. Better still, the more you build up momentum the more foes you'll be able to take on - using the environment to navigate and attack your enemies as you see fit. It's awfully fitting for a person who relies on speed to accomplish their goals this way, and goes one step further to plug the holes that once existed in the Mirror's Edge formula.
