Monster Hunter 4: 8 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
6. Crouch To Carve Quicker
MH4U gives you a minute at the end of a quest to obsessively-compulsively loot the carcass of the monster that's just left this mortal coil. While this is usually more than enough time for most hunts, it isn't anywhere near enough to loot the corpse of a huge beast like the Fatalis. Pressing B to crouch before carving will significantly speed up the process, but considering that large monsters generally have three carving points, you'll still have to be snappy if you want to collect everything. The power of crouching is by no means miraculous, but it does at least slightly decrease the number of times you'll have to fight monsters the size of entire neighbourhoods, so it's no bad thing.
