Monster Hunter: World - 12 Incredibly Helpful Secrets You Need To Know

10. There Are Tons Of Secret Slide & Wall-Flip Special Moves

You might already know that you can leap directly backwards off a climbable wall by hitting circle/B, and that during a slide, your moveset changes slightly, but also know that many weapons have secret, unique and supremely cool wall/slide-moves that can be triggered in these states.

Check the above video for some specifics, but examples include:

- The Hammer: Hold R2/RT and charge towards a climbable wall. You'll run up and jump off, entering into a Sonic-style drop-dash, spinning your hammer far faster than during any other attack.

- Dual Swords: Again with R2/RT and a charge into the wall, except you'll run up and come off at a higher level, making this perfect to sever tails or disable something like the Anjanath's fire breath.

- Sword & Shield: "Attacking" the wall with triangle/Y produces an animation where your Hunter will sprint up the wall and come crashing down - sword-first - into a killing downward thrust. Like some wrestling move made fantasy, this is a perfect way to finish off a downed beast in style - especially if multiple heroes all sync up their attacks.
