Monster Hunter: World - 12 Incredibly Helpful Secrets You Need To Know

8. Re-Attack A Broken Monster Part To Make Them Stagger/Flinch

Monster Hunter World
Capcom

If you're already a confident wielder of the Hammer i.e. the thing that feels as though you're connecting with a car on the end of a stick, you'll be familiar with braining a creature's teeth in and seeing stars around their heads. This indicates a creature is soon to be downed through sheer blunt force trauma, but you can instigate it another way, too: Just focus fire on any sliced off animal part.

Once you've hacked off a tail, chunk of armour-like skin, horn etc., keep attacking that same area of the monster.

Doing this will also down the beast or at least make them fall back in a staggered position, letting you get more hits in. Best used when working in a team, you can assign one hunter to really make a point of attacking certain areas, ensuring that every few minutes, you can all dog-pile in at once.
