Monster Hunter: World - 12 Incredibly Helpful Secrets You Need To Know

7. Skip A Monster's Dying Animation

Monster Hunter World

One of those "It's so unnecessary!"/"But it's tradition!" foibles of Monter Hunter gameplay, watching your quarry writhe and die after a good hunt is certainly satisfying if you've been whittling it down over the better part of an hour, but can also get in the way of carving and mining additional items.

To cancel the camera cutaway (your character is still moving as normal anyway, if you want to control them offscreen and get carving), just hit pause and you'll skip the perspective-shift.

This means you can get to carving the best parts of the creature, before high-tailing it to any nearby mining deposits and claiming them too. Not to mention, any items that fall directly onto the floor are first come, first serve - so make sure you're in place asap.
