Monster Hunter World: Ranking Every Weapon From Worst To Best

10. Insect Glaive

Odogaron Monster Hunter
Capcom

Pros: Best mobility, easy mounts, fast attacks, self-buffs

Cons: Low attack power, no block, high stamina cost

Clearly, the weapon of choice for Hunters that like to do combat in style, World's Insect Glaive escapes redundancy based purely on the fact that its users can pole vault onto a monster's back for easy mounts and subsequent takedowns, but beyond that utility, the rest of its game is somewhat lacking.

Besides the fact that you'll often witness inexperienced users of the double-bladed stick plummeting to ground out of mid-air due to getting hit by nothing more than a stiff breeze, its attacks not only register damage on the lower end of the spectrum but guzzle stamina.

The former issue can be offset through accurate use of the Kinsect (extracts stat boosts depending on which part of the monster it's launched at), but even by stacking every buff under the sun, endless sequences of twirly air-paddling on a monster's back will amount to not much more than a persistent mosquito intent on coming back for seconds.

An excellent co-op weapon; not much else.
