Mortal Kombat 1: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

16. Smoke

Smoke isn't the best in close combat, but that's not what he's built for.

His attacks revolve around vanishing and reappearing behind the other kombatant, before hacking them up with his dagger. Smoke's disappearing acts catch enemies off-guard, and it's a great way to dodge attacks.

Since the majority of Smoke's moves involve... well.. smoke... it's difficult to keep track of him. When he drops a gas pellet, his rival doesn't know whether he launched a projectile, teleported, or is standing in the same spot. People who play as the vapour-powered shinobi must use this confusion to their advantage, striking while the iron is hot.

Because his tactics aren't geared towards conventional fighting, not everybody will gravitate towards Smoke. But if players enjoy using stealth, misdirection, and deception, this grey-robed warrior is the way to go.
