Mortal Kombat 10: 10 Things We Want To See

2. The Challenge Tower

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9magQS_wnOg The Challenge Tower was a new mode unveiled in MK9 that saw players go through a series of mini-challenges (some of which weren't related to the main story) with a mysterious prize given out at the end. After various challenges, some ranging from obscenely easy to insanely difficult, the prize was discovered to be ... an alternate costume. It was none other than Mileena in strategically-placed bandages from her scene in Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits. Very disappointing to say the least as many speculated the prize would be a hidden character (such as the aforementioned Tanya shown shackled in Shao Kahn's arena) or the ability to play as boss characters Goro, Kintara, or Shao Kahn. When Injustice: Gods Among Us came out with a similar mode called STAR Labs, fans were disappointed to find out that the prize in that mode was also just another alternate costume. The Challenge Tower proved entertaining and fun, but if gamers are going to be encouraged to complete it thoroughly, there HAS to be a worthy prize at the end of road, and an alternate costume is not a worthy trophy.
