Mortal Kombat: 10 Absolute Worst Characters Ever
8. Blaze
Blaze is as generic a character as you can find; he's on fire and therefore uses fire moves. That is literally all there is to Blaze, and at one point he became a villainous Hulk-type; that is pretty much video-gaming 101.
The most interesting thing about Blaze, is that he is a by-product of fan speculation. A fiery character appeared in the background of The Pit stage of Mortal Kombat II, and fans wondered if he was a real character - he was actually just Liu Kang on fire. Well the flame-throwing Liu Kang became a playable mystery-man in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and he was not worth the wait.
Blaze can throw fire, teleport using lava, slam the ground, and roll like a lava ball. Nothing particular interesting. In Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, he was promoted to the main villain for no real reason and became an annoying boss fight. Since then he has resorted back to cameo status.
No matter what angle you look at Blaze, whether he's a Johnny Storm type, or the hulk version, he's as uninspired a character as you will ever find in Mortal Kombat. Seriously, he's just a guy on fire wearing black underwear.
