Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Gaming Icons Who MUST Guest Star

The Doom Slayer would eviscerate MK's entire roster.

Mortal Kombat is a series known for many things. Brutal violence, wince-inducing gore, a thick layer of black comedy and a metric ton of early 1990s cheesiness. However, in more recent years the Mortal Kombat series has become known for something else... weird and wonderful guest fighters.

From Jason Voorhees to Kratos, ever since 2011's Mortal Kombat, guest fighters have become a beloved series staple (even extending to DC-flavoured sister series Injustice). It's very hard to not speculate, then, which pop culture icons will be appearing in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11.

While there are many articles already conducting some healthy speculation as to which film and comic book characters will appear in the sequel, one field of pop culture has been neglected in this imaginary shortlist of desired fighters; Mortal Kombat's own backyard, is the realm of video games.

Let us know down in the comments which video game heroes or villains you want to see appear in MK. Some are better fits than others...

10. The Hunter

Much like Kratos' turn as a guest star in MK 9, it's quite possible that the PS4 release of MK 11 will be given a console exclusive character; exclusive content proving itself to be quite the backbone of Sony's console in recent years.

There is, of course, a very obvious and previously franchise-featured PlayStation mascot who could find their way into the roster of MK 11 (More on them later in this list). However, Bloodborne's player-created Hunter is a PlayStation icon born of the eighth generation, and belonging to a world as brutal and merciless as Bloodborne, is a seamless fit into the gut and gore of Mortal Kombat.

With the vast majority of Bloodborne players picking and using one of three weapons through most of the game, the Hunter would, in a noteworthy distinction gameplay-wise, make a comfy fit into the three-style-variation system implemented in MK X.
