18. Scorpion

Status: Officially confirmed & seen as playable.

Poster-boy for the franchise and all-round flame-headed legend, Scorpion was the first character we saw front-loading everything relating to Mortal Kombat 11, and he looks better than ever.

Channeling his older, ceremonial look as a nod to the overall sensibility of MK 11 returning to the original trilogy's timeline, Scorpion's outfit shows off the new customisation system, seeing him swap out a variety of spears alongside clothing options and adornments like shoulder pads and kunai.

Story-wise, Scorpion and Sub-Zero are finally on the same page after decades of fighting, and I'm personally very interested to see whether NetherRealm undo that revelation from MK X - or let the two most iconic ninjas in the franchise move forward as companions.
