17. D'Vorah

Status: Officially confirmed in behind the scenes video & assumedly playable.

One of the only good new characters from MK X, D'Vorah's controlling of bug swarms and insecticides is perfect Fatality fodder, and even just visually, she's given us some truly rancid finishers, stripping characters of their flesh or removing their hearts and brains with her tendrils.

In terms of how much she's advanced since MK X we... actually don't know. Creative Director Ed Boon revealed D'Vorah's inclusion as part of an Inside Xbox behind the scenes video, only showing her new design in a still image.

Here's hoping D'Vorah has been meaningfully expanded in terms of her base moveset and especially those fatalities. The very idea of a Poison Ivy-style character who weaponises insects swarms and toxins is fantastic, and reminiscent of the sorts of characters the team came up with decades ago.
