9. Hsu Hao

Hsu Hao was a character introduced in 2002's Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. A Monglian member of the then newly introduced Red Dragon clan, he served his leader Mavado with obedience. Hsu Hao also had cybernetic implants while firing laser beams from his chest.

The Red Dragon member perished during the events of the game but was brought back, like every fighters in the series, for 2006's Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

Despite this, Hsu Hao is considered one of the least popular characters in the franchise. This status hasn't been helped by the numerous comments by the games' creators who have all disliked the character. In fact, Jax's ending in the game ended in his death which was deemed canon in the storyline.

At the same time, Hsu Hao has received numerous cameos that put him in an unflattering light. From being unceremoniously killed by Scorpion in the Mortal Kombat X comic or as a severed head in Erron Black's intro in Mortal Kombat 11, it seems like this Red Dragon member just can't seem to catch a break.

This makes Hsu Hao even more ripe for a comeback. Because of his reputation, it would be interesting for NetherRealm Studios to overhaul the character or give him a redesign in order for fans to give him a second chance.
