Kano has a cybernetic implant on his face, which is a homage to The Terminator. But you know what's crazy? The Terminator was supposed to appear in the original game. You see, Ed Boon and John Tobias thought the game would be successful if each fighter was from a famous film. This idea was dropped as the developers didn't have the money for licensing fees.

But that wasn't going to stop the developers from incorporating as many Terminator references as possible. For Jax's Fatality in MK3, his bionic arms morph into blades, which is what the T-1000 does in Terminator 2.

After the player defeats Scorpion in MK: Shaolin Monks and casts him into a fiery pit, he performs a thumbs up. Arnie's character does the same thing in T2's conclusion.

When The Terminator debuted in MK11, many quotes from the movie franchise were incorporated into the game. If Jax fights him, he says, “You can’t just go around killing people.” which is a quote from T2. If The Terminator fights Kung Lao, he asks about his hat and then says "Give it to me." He says the same thing to the punks at the beginning of the original movie.
