14. Liu Kang
The fire-blasting bicycle-kicking martial artist shows off his dragon summoning skills against Kabal in the trailer. It's not apparent if he'll be Earthrealm's saviour in the film, but so long as he's part of the plan, it'll be accurate to his character.
Probably the most well-known human character in the mythos, Liu Kang has consistently been portrayed as the saviour of Earth against Emperor Shao Khan's forces up until Deadly Alliance, where he was killed by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi.
Naturally, he was brought back as an undead to fight another day. Most recently, he became a Fire God after defeating Kronika in MK 11.
A Shaolin fighter, Kang is infamous for his Bruce Lee-esque cries and exclamations while fighting, but that doesn't mean he's a comical character. He can throw enough flames to rival Scorpion and he's beaten Shao Khan in combat numerous times, so it will be great to see his fighting prowess properly reflected on the big screen.
