Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading
7. Predator (Warrior)
Another victim of NetherRealm's penchant for including characters that rely on self-damaging attacks, Predator's Self-Detonate move with the Warrior variant is so naff it makes Ferra/Torr's Pain and Gain look overpowered in comparison. Unlike the projectile-heavy Hish-Qu-Ten variant that specialises in zoning opponents and Hunter - which focuses on set-ups for defensive play, Warrior feels like a directionless mess that NetherRealm cooked-up as a haphazard means of filling the third variant slot. Along with Self-Detonate, Warrior has the Yautja Strike attack which is great for closing gaps and setting up juggle combos, but it's completely safe on block and punishable if used at the wrong time. Self-Detonate too, has an agonisingly long start-up animation that can be interrupted at any time and inflicts a massive 10% damage on Predator when he uses it. You'd think such a powerful and risky attack would be unblockable, but nope - opponents can just hold up their arms and shield themselves from the bulk of the damage. The concept of risk vs. reward must be a completely alien concept to NetherRealm's testing department. Giant explosions should NOT be blockable.
