9. Mario Party 2

Mario Party is another essential Nintendo franchise that made it's biggest impact on the Nintendo 64. Out of all of the games in the series, Mario Party 2 is arguably the best of the best.

One of the best aspects of Mario Party 2 that confusingly didn't return in later games, was how Mario and friends all dressed up depending on the theme of the board. This gave each environment more character and makes it much more memorable, which is special in retrospect as the feature never returned again.

Besides this, Mario Party 2 also introduced several new gameplay features such as making items more prominent, and has some of the most entertaining and replayable minigames in the whole series. This Mario Party is still the best, even with all of the new entries since it's release.

Of course, failing Mario Party 2's inclusion, we'd happily accept the first or the third game instead, as all are fantastic. All three would be even better!
