NBA 2K15: 10 Things You Need To Know

2. The Debut Of Face Scanning Technology

We live in a world where technology is always changing. Ten years ago we barely had cell phones in our everyday lives. Now look at how much they have taken over everything. The gaming industry is no different. What 2K has done this year is allowed users to put their own faces in the game using Face Scan technology. The ability to Face Scan is available in the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Players will be able to "scan" their faces in using their Kinect or PS4 camera, which can then be put on their player in-game. Once you do that, you'll be able to play alongside basketball greats in both career and multi-player game modes. The way it works on a PS4 is pretty simple. You hold the eye camera about 6-12 inches from your face. The scanning process begins from there. You should turn your head slowly to the left and the right for approximately 30 degrees to each side. It will take approximately 30 seconds to do it. While it may seem awkward to try it, the end result is worth it. http://youtu.be/6eAkgVC3moo The technology doesn't just take a picture of you. It maps your entire face to capture all of your facial features and look. You can also sculpt your head how you want it to look. If you don't like your hair line (shoutout to LeBron James!) you can change that. If you have a beard it will pick that up too. If you want to adjust your jawline or nose, you can do that also. There are plenty of options on how you can alter your look. If you have no interest in looking at yourself in a video game, that's fine. You can still create a player the traditional way too. It's just really cool that 2K would go the next step in terms of giving gamers the option to put themselves in the game by utilizing face scan technology.
