Were Duncan on any other squad apart from the San Antonio Spurs, this rating would be scarily lower. He may still fit well in Gregg Popovich's teamwork-heavy system, a role in which he's able to use every ounce of veteran nous while conserving his energy, but that can't mask 'The Big Fundamental''s inevitable decline. He's 39 years old, after all! 87 is far too high a rating for a player averaging just shy of 14 points per game, as Duncan did last season. He may have chimed in with an admirable 9 rebounds and 3 assists, but there were many power forwards in the NBA with superior statistics over the course of last season. 2K's rating has him as the fourth best power forward in the game, and while he certainly still deserves to be top 10, he's currently way too high.
