NBA 2K16: 10 Tips To Play Like A God

Unlike real basketball, you don't have to be 6'8" and 250lbs.

We've all been there. It's a new edition of NBA 2K, you've yet to work out the quirks and foibles of the game, and you can't buy a win. Not against an online opponent; not against your best friend; not even against the CPU (alright, sometimes against the CPU - but you suspect it's taking it easy on you). NBA 2K16 is potentially the most realistic basketball game ever made, and can therefore be quite daunting. Now, more than ever, it's important to be able to play in a somewhat sensible fashion. No more reaching in to steal the ball at every given opportunity, and no more 1-on-5 fast break attempts; it's time to play smart. Luckily, help is on the way. Here are a few tips and tricks to have you dominating the court in no time.

10. Play To Your Team's Strengths

This is where knowledge of the real-world NBA might come in handy. The first thing you should be able to do is identify your own team's strengths, whether using an existing NBA franchise or custom MyTeam roster. It's important to work out not only which of your players are the most dangerous, but why they are. It's no good having Steph Curry at point guard without letting fly from beyond the arc now and again. Don't worry if you're an NBA novice. A quick glance at the stats should set you straight, but be careful not to over-rely on your biggest weapons. 2K16's improved realism means that stamina will play a key role, and no man can run the show for a full 48 minutes (even LeBron James).
