MyGM's offseason has been bolstered by a new seven-day period the developers have nicknamed the 'Staff Carousel'. Players will now have the ability to tempt coaches and scouts from other teams, or promote their own staff internally. The career paths of each staff member will follow a realistic trend. Head scouts will become assistant coaches over time, who could in turn become head coaches. Fired coaches will attempt to break back into the game on the lower rungs of a different team. Similarly, over the course of longer-term games, players will retire and go on to become coaches themselves. Just like Steve Kerr and Jason Kidd in the current NBA, 2K16 players could well see superstars of an earlier era return in search of further success. Imagine leading the Spurs to another NBA Championship with Tim Duncan at the helm, or controversially bringing Kobe Bryant to help out with the LA Clippers.
