With the introduction of new, sponsored jerseys by the league, the creators were in a way forced to spend more time on them. In the case of the NBA 2K series, more work is synonymous with improvement.
Not only are the jerseys more up to date, they simply look better. Their texture is more natural, the way the letters and logos react to the players' movements are more so as well. While the final evaluation can be given only after the first gameplay video is available, the screenshots clearly show that the developers have afforded a lot of care even to getting these minor details just right.
