NBA 2K18 Demo Hands-On: 4 Things We Learned
2. Gameplay Is Still Great
In the very limited demo - more on that in the next entry - you're also able to play as the Warriors against the Cavs in 2KU. And while the streetball games might look just okay, making it hard to see the improvements over the previous edition, it's that ten-minute game in an empty arena that shows what 2K18 will be capable of.
The authentic players look and move like their real-life counterparts. They even play that way, as the Cavs bring the ball upcourt either through James or their point guard (the creators had to put Isaiah Thomas there at the last minute following the trade).
Playing as the Warriors is a true delight, and it's really fun to see how the team switches on defense, with Draymond Green often defending the point guard on the perimeter.
Whole experience looks and feels authentic, and that's what NBA 2K games are all about.
