Why it makes sense:
The Nets have been in full-on rebuild mode for some time now and this trade will just speed-up the process. Losing the draft pick in 2020 will be hard to swallow, but in exchange the Nets get two picks in this year's draft, which they can either keep or use to move up a couple of spots in order to select a much better player.
Losing Lin hurts as well, but the team already has a pair of starting guards, while Dedmon becomes the starting center.
