Why it makes sense:
The Pacers are rebuilding and a lot of their players have a team option for the next season, declining which will allow the team to make a splash in free agency.
This trade solves two problems - one is Oladipo's deal, which seems to big for a player of his caliber. Two, it helps the Pacers get a young power forward on a team-friendly deal for the season.
You can move Young to small forward, Bogdanovich to shooting guard and have a very decent starting line-up, maybe even make the playoffs. You could do likewise with Oladipo on the roster, but wouldn't have the same cap flexibility after the season.
