NBA 2K18 Vs. NBA Live 18 - Which Game Is Better?
7. Presentation
NBA Live 18 has a deal with ESPN, which makes the games look really professional before the tip-off. This also applies to The One, which features the hosts of the TV show First Take discussing your player's progress. Once the opening whistle blows, the game is no longer as impressive though.
The half-time and full-time menus look better, also thanks to a deal with ESPN, but on the whole, the game pales in comparison to NBA 2K18. For example, the commentary is just OK, because Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy stay silent during some stretches and don't provide much personal information about the players.
NBA 2K18 on the other hand has a pre-game studio, a true opening with player introductions, and in-game interviews about the games. But the best part of the experience is the commentary, which really adjusts itself to the on-court situations. The commentators are actually talking to each other, joking around or discussing their past, just like they would during an actual NBA game.
There's a mood of intimacy and camaraderie that no other sports game has reached yet.
The Winner: NBA 2K18
